I'm a kiwi from a small town in New Zealand, I grew up in the outdoors with fishing, hunting, camping and sports, in the garage with woodwork and metalwork, and also in front of the screen watching Hollywood and Hong Kong movies. It's safe to say that I fell in love with the magic of movies at a young age.
I studied mechanical engineering after high school but my heart steered me towards movie making and my feet kept going.
Being geographically isolated from Hollywood didn't stop me and after making many short films with no money, I managed to make my first 'American style' Feature Length Action Film in Wellington (New Zealand) called "CONTRACT KILLERS". I passionately shot it on a trusting friend's $30,000 and it won an Award for 'Best Action' and has been picked up for Distribution by international sales agent 'Vision Films'.
I am lucky to be both creative and technical... and I am certainly motivated to get things done.
I love tough characters and badass monsters... the 3 main films that hooked me in this area as a kid were "Aliens", "Predator" and "Terminator 2: Judgement Day".
I also love family movies and found myself watching the "Back to the Future" trilogy many times.
and I loved growing up with Jackie Chan martial arts movies... they were always a great show.
Some of my favourite dramas are "Forest Gump", "The Shawshank Redemption", "Million Dollar Baby", "The Pursuit of Happiness" and "Seven Pounds".
And plenty of other movies and sagas!... (too many to mention, cough cough the "Lethal Weapon" saga).
